Terms of service

These terms govern your use of RateAI — the mobile app, this website and everything served from them. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service.

They work alongside our data policy, which explains what we hold and why.

You must be 18 or older. This is not a soft recommendation: the minimum is enforced in the database, and accounts found to belong to minors are deleted rather than warned.

One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything done through your account.

You keep ownership of everything you upload. We do not claim your photographs.

You grant us a limited licence to host, resize, display and process that content strictly to operate the service — showing your profile to other users, generating your score, and running the AI features you choose to use. The licence exists so the product can function, ends when you delete the content, and does not extend to advertising or to any use outside RateAI.

You confirm that, for everything you upload:

• It is of you, and you have the right to upload it.
• It does not contain another identifiable person who has not agreed.
• It is not sexual content, and does not depict a minor.
• It does not infringe anyone else's rights.

RateAI works only if being rated is safe. The following will cost you your account:

• Uploading someone else's photograph, or impersonating anyone.
• Sexual content, nudity, or any content involving minors.
• Harassment, hate speech, threats, or abuse in rating notes.
• Manipulating scores, ranks or XP — multiple accounts, bots, automation, or coordinated rating.
• Scraping, reverse engineering, or attacking the service.
• Using RateAI to advertise, recruit or solicit.

Uploads pass through automated moderation, and we may review reported content. We can remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules — for serious cases, immediately and without warning.

Scores are the aggregated opinions of other users. They are not a measurement of worth, and nothing in the product should be read as one.

Ratings you give other people belong to the product once given: they stay if you close your account, with your identity removed, because deleting them would silently change other people's averages.

We may recalculate, correct or discard scores and ranks affected by abuse or by a fault. Leaderboard positions are not guaranteed and carry no value outside the app.

Coach features analyse photographs you submit and produce suggestions. They are opinion and guidance, not fact, and definitely not medical, dermatological, psychological or cosmetic-surgical advice. Do not make health decisions based on them.

Output is generated by a model and can be wrong. The coach is designed to comment on things you can change — lighting, framing, grooming, presentation — and to describe rather than criticise anything you cannot.

Using an AI feature sends the relevant photo or text to our AI providers at that moment. This is listed in the data policy.

RateAI is free to use. Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, and coins are a one-off consumable purchase used for AI coach runs and extra game plays.

• All payments are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account — cancelling must be done there, not here.
• Deleting your RateAI account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel first, or billing continues.
• Refunds are handled under the store's policy, not ours. Coins have no cash value, are not transferable and are not refundable once spent.
• Prices and what each tier includes can change. We will tell you before a change affects an existing subscription.

We aim to keep RateAI running but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may add, alter or withdraw them. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give reasonable notice so you can retrieve or delete your data.

You can delete your account at any time — see the deletion page. It is erased permanently after seven days, during which you can restore it.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms. Where termination is for a serious breach — content involving minors, sustained harassment, coordinated manipulation — it takes effect immediately, and any unused coins or subscription time are forfeited.

RateAI is provided as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

If you are a consumer, you keep every statutory right your local law gives you, and nothing in these terms overrides them.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use RateAI after that means you accept them. The date at the top of this page is always the current version.
